GCU is registered with the State Council of Higher Education of the Common Wealth of Virginia (SCHEV). Under this registration GCU is authorized to grant theological degree programs from certificates to PhDs.

GCU is accredited by the Accreditation Commission International ACI is a non-governmental accreditation, extended exclusively to private, Christian institutions. Because Galois Christian University goal is to train God centered Spirit led theological programs we will not be seeking regional accreditation because of secular requirements contrary to our christian beliefs.

What is an accreditation? Accreditation is a type of quality assurance process under which a facility's or institution's services and operations are examined by a third-party accrediting agency to determine if applicable standards are met. Should the facility meet the accrediting agency's standards, the facility receives accredited status from the accrediting agency.
Please note: GCU is exempt from the requirement of SCHEV certification; its primary purpose is to provide religious and theological education.

In accordance with the Viriginia Department of Higher Education which has qualified Galois Christian University as a religious degree-granting institution. As such, GCU may soley grant degrees in religious disciplines without the approval of the SCHEV.

SCHEV is the State of Viriginia higher education coordinating board responsible for establishing statewide policies for state's public and private colleges and universities and for-profit career schools.
