A practical course for developing the skills which seek to discover independently the meaning of biblical text in its context. These skills are applied to various genres of biblical literature. Practical application to life and ministry are emphasized.

Course Objectives:
This course is designed to: Give students an acute awareness of the need for great care and accuracy in the study of the Scriptures.
Equip students with Bible study methods and processes, the practice of which will build confidence in their own ability to study the Bible independently.
3. Guide students to accurately and appropriately apply the results of their Bible study to their own specific ministry opportunities.
4. Provide students with a workable framework for lifelong Bible study leading to personal spiritual growth and a constantly increasing body of personally developed resource material for ministry use.
5. Upon completion of this course the student should be able to: Survey a biblical document so as to determine and articulate the major theme with its logical divisions.
6. Analyze the content of biblical text at various levels to discover the true sense of the passage.
7. Accurately observe the significant structural signals and logical relationships within the passage.
8. Interpret the text in the light of its original historical, cultural setting and literary context.
9. Apply biblical texts appropriately and sensibly to the modern setting.
10. Appreciate and more fully utilize the ministry of the Holy Spirit in and through the Scriptures.
11. Set worthy goals for improvement of personal Bible study habits and procedures for lifelong growth in the knowledge of the Scriptures.
