Project Design in Ministry
Have you dreamed of starting a ministry but you don’t know how or where to start? This program is for you. Project design and management in ministry is a 16 credits program where students learn hands on how to design and develop and manage a project from beginning to end. We believe that this is one of the most valuable programs at GCU because the skills acquired can be applied not only in ministry but also in business or to the corporate world.
Completion of project design and management program requirements lead to a Certificate of Project Design & Development in Ministry in addition to the Master or Doctoral Degree.
What is this program?
This is a thesis and dissertation option for graduate and post graduate students. Students choose one of three thesis or dissertation options that are unique and only offered at GCU:
A conventional thesis or dissertation
2. Project design and development
3. Publishing
Who should choose this program?
Students pursuing a master or doctoral program.
2. Students who want to develop a ministry or any kind of project within the organization that they are wirking in,
start an organization, church, Para church, charity, nonprofit…
3. Students who want to acquire skills in project design and management in ministry.
Why enroll in this program?
Christian organizations are in need of qualified leaders to successfully undertake and sustain complex or difficult projects.
In North America Up to 9 out of 10 pastors drop out of ministry because theological colleges emphasize theory but students aren’t training to undertake the practical challenges of ministry.

How will students implement this knowledge?
Students who choose this thesis/dissertation program should decide prior to enrolling what project they would like to design because graduate or doctoral theses/dissertations start at the time or enrollment parallel to courses requirements.
2. Once the project has been chosen a project proposal will be submitted to the faculty, if approved the student will proceed with the project.
3. Although some subjects of the program will be taught prior to effectively starting the project, most of the project will be taught parallel to the execution of the project.

Students will be able to conduct a community needs assessment- Students will learn how develop a problem statement
- Students will be able to formulate goals and objectives
- Students will learn project implementation planning
- Students will learn how to formulate a job description, staffing pattern, and training plan
- Students will learn how to improve involvement of constituents through participatory approach to dedicsion making
- Students will learn monitoring and evaluation methods
- Students will learn record keeping and reporting
- .Students will learn budgeting
- .Students will learn about project sustainability
At the end of the program the student will be running the organization that they started.

Master:18
Doctorate 24-30 months
Program cost:
Master: $300 per month for 18 months
Doctorate: $350 for 24 months
