Master Program Admission Requirements

Preliminary Requirements for Admission
Christ must be the center and architect of each student’s faith and life. Students are expected to enroll with the aim of pursuing deeper spiritual commitment and maturity in the service of the Lord.

General admission Requirements
To be accepted into any master’s program, a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree. Or at least 60 credit hours of undergraduate work, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in a Bible-related program. If the degree/courses are from a secular school, GCU also requires at least three years of full-time or five years of part-time ministry experience, and/or enrollment in our Div.M. program. With the approval of an academic adviser, a student may combine master of divinity courses with concentrations in other master programs.

Credits transfer
Credits from accredited or approved Christian institutions may be transferable or partly transferable. Ministry experience is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Students who have fulfilled the full academic requirements for our master’s degrees at other institutions, or through ministry experience, must still complete all prerequisites, along with required theses and internships.

Transfer Students
Any student transferring to Galois Christian University from an accredited or approved educational institution must arrange for all previous schools to send official transcripts to GCU. Any relevant credits may be transferred.

Audit Students
Students will not be graded for courses. However, any former audit student who passed the course in question may file a petition to convert the course for credit.

General Graduation Requirements
To receive any undergraduate or graduate degree from GCU, a student must complete all assignments.

Ministry Experience Credits
Relevant ministry experience or seminars/workshops, can be counted as Ministry experience credits toward a degree. New students interested in such credits must submit a resume detailing all experience relevant to the degree program of choice. The staff members who review the application will decide the number of credits, if any, to be granted. There is a special fee for such review of documentation; requesting life experience credits is purely voluntary.

Thesis Options
Prior to enrollment students need to select one of three thesis requirement options because each of these programs start upon completion of prerequisite courses and count for at least 16 credits:
